My first star is how awesome my Olympic powerpoint presentation. It was really fun making it and Mrs. McCormick really helped me alot with figuring out how to use powerpoint. My second star is the science project i did on powerpoint about the Himalayan mountains. Me and a few other people came up with the criterea.  A wish i have for next year is that i could improve on multiplying large numbers.

Today chloe's mom (michelle) came and taught us about salmon habitats. She taught us that it is good to have trees around creeks, the trees provide oxygyn and they give the creek shade which cools down the water.And that the female salmon lays 800 eggs, but only 2 return.

First salmon start out as eggs,then they are eyed eggs,next they become aleven and then fry.

Since spring break we have learned alot.In science we are talking about different habitats and communities.We are going to choose a habitat and do a report on it.In math we are learning about decimals and fractions. we just had a test and i did sorta bad on it, but i made my corrections:) i also finished my essay on karate.

I am proud of the stories that I am writing. So far all of my stories this term and in grade four have gotten As. I am also proud of how I have improved in math. Math was always pretty hard for me but now it easier than before. One thing that I would like to improve on is putting more dress ups in the Daily Paragraph Edit paragraphs that we do every Friday.

In writing we choose 2 cards randomly.One problem and one charecter.Then we will write a story using them.We also started a unit on time in math.For socails we are doing a project on a famous explorer.We  doing it in partners.I choose Wynne to do it with me.And in science we are learning about light and sound,we have talked about natural light and artificail light.

This year my grandparents will be coming up from Spokane for Christmas and will stay at my dad's house.When they are here we will have a traditional German meal of juicy meatballs.Although they will be staying at my dad's house they will be coming over to my mom's on Christmas morning to exchange gifts(I think.)

 

 

And luckily my cousins are coming to coming to visit us in Summerland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week we started to do division.We learned how to divide by using an array.An array is a picture that you can use to solve math problems like 24 divided by 2.(12)We also started to practice for our Christmas concert.We are singing Run  Run Rodolph and silent night.And on Thursday we did a music preformance with Mrs. Thebert's class.The song we did was called white coral bells.

this week we learned about mutiplication.You can solve qustions that you are stuck on by skip counting.Or you can use doubling.We also learned a new way of note taking were you chose three key words and make your own sentence using those words.Today we did an activity were you would chose a question like what is your favorite place, and you would write about your favorite place to go.

In my story, I used the charecters Minotaur, Ceberus, and Cyclops.Cyclops can cause storms when he's angery, and this time the storm travels all the way to Minotaur's village, and he goes to find out, taking his dog Cerberus along the way.When they get there, they find out that Cerberus can speak Cyclops.He asks him to come back with them.And they all live in the labyrinth together.

This week we started a new unit in math.We are learning how to add 3 and 4 digit numbers.We are also doing vollyball in gym.Yesterday we had a vollyball person from the olympics came to show us how to do  different things,like spiking and setting.You could also sign up for vollyball at lunch.In socails we are learning about explores and first nations people.

this week I learned about whole numbers in math.you can write numbers in different ways. standard form, expanded form, word form, and pictuure form.We also started to read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.It is about peter and his little brother fudge, who always gets into trouble.In socail studies we have started to color a map of the world.PEACE OUT!

This week I learned a lot in science. I know how to measure snowfall! First you need a snowboard and meter stick. Put the snowboard on the snow. Wait till it snows next to measure the snow.Put the meterstick in the snow until it hits  the snowboard, look at the number on the stick and you have your answer:) Sometimes you don't always get an accurate  answer,the snow can be light and fluffy and get blown away by the wind and sometimes it is wet and melts quikly. And last week in social studies we talked about stereotypes.Stereotyping is when a group of people judges a person by how they look or do things.It is bad because what you think about that person may not be true.Never judge someone by how they look,think, or do things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PEACE OUT!

This week I learned words with the long vowel sound, like tuba and crime.When you say a word with the long vowel sound in it is like is like saying the letter.We also watched a video about weather. I learned that pollution in the air can make the ozone layer thinner.Today in math we did Soduku. It was fun.I had never played that before!
