Two Stars And A Wish
1st *. Being in the inrichment club, tought be Mrs. McCormick, and doing the Olympic power point.
2nd *. Getting an A on mine and Tabby's science project on First Nations and Henry Hudson.

In science we are doing a project on habitats. My project is going to be on forests. Forests have many different types of animals. Some have bears, moose, birds, little rodents, and LOTS of insects. They also have lots of trees and plants. Some forest have the tallests trees in the world.

This week Mrs.Kam showed us to some things on cocony salmon habitats. First we all got into groups and looked at pictures of creeks. Then our groups had to think of things wroung with the creek, things good about the creek, and what we could do to help it. Next we played a game. We had to pertend we were salmon and we had to get back to Mission Creek. What I've learned since sping break :
In math we've been doing decimals and fractions. I've learned how to add and subtract decimals, 25.25+35.02=60.27 , 65.00-25.00=40.00. I also learned how to write an essay. We started a naretive essay. We started a new novel study, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We do lit circles, I was the discusion dorectot. :)

This week Oliva's Mom brought in 3 Japanese lady's and they showed us how to do oragami. I made a frog that jumps and
a sumo resler. It was really cool!! In vocab I learned what aqueduct means, it means water pipe. In math I learned that 1931-
1847=84.

2 things I think I did good at in the second term are the socials project & langauge arts. I am proud of the social studdies project because me & Tabby got an A on it & it looks really good. I also had to finish on my own, so I am glad I got it done while Tabby was in Kamloops. I am proud of my langauge arts because I am alot faster at it now, like I never got my vocab done, but now I do.

Over winter break I'm going to the Yukon. All the family on my mum's side is going up and my grandmum is paying for all of the flights!!!! That's a lot of money!!!! I have 3 aunties,3 uncles,and some cousins up there. It's going to be exciting because I get to see my cousins
3 mouth old baby boy,and I get to go scudooing,and ice fishing,if it's not to cold!! I'll get to see a bunch of my family that I don't get to see that often. I leave on the19th then I have to go on a 2 hour flight and I arive in the Yukon at 1:30 in the morning. I stay for 10 and ahalf days then get back on New Years Eve at 8 O-clock and that's my winter vacation. It's going to be awsome!!!! Friday December 4,09 weekten This week I learned how to figure out how to solve division word problems in math. Like we did this one in math today,there should be a water bottle forplayer in the tournament. There are eight teams. Each team has six players. How many water bottles are needed? My answer was 48 water bottles where needed. I also learned what some words mean in vocab. Like wallaby means small kangaroo and infant means baby. My class also did the three key word sentences. Like when you take three key words from a sentence then you write your own sentence about the same topic with out copying the other sentence.

This week I learned how to take 3-4 key words from a paragraph and write your own paragraph with your 3-4 key words with out copying. We also did a little project where we
had to choose a topice and write abaut it. You had to write four paragraphs about it but,for the four paragraphs there was things you needed to write about. I also learned what outmoded means it means old-style.

My story is about a Cyclops who is always been made fun of. He is made fun of because he had two eyes and he can't make storms. Cyclops decided to go on a journey and find the solution to his problems. Cyclops ended up in Minotaur's maze. Cyclops got so mad and created a storm. Then the Minotaurs got so scared of Cyclops' powers they bsaid they would grant any spell for Cyclops because Cyclops thretend todestroy them all. So Cyclops wished to have one eye and it was done write away. Then Cyclops went home and no one made fun of him any more. As for the Minotaurs they justran away. The End.

I think I need to improve on my writing,because it's the only one that I have not gotten an exceeding on. Every other year I have got exceeding on every subject except for writing. I also think that I don't put enough detail in my writing. So I'm going to work really hard this year on adding more detail and to try to sell words propoly.

This week Mrs.Seiben came into our classroom for the morning and we did a bunch of Remembrance Day crafts and read some Rememberance Day pomemes. We have been watching some First Nations videos in science. We have watched two so fare and it is really interesting. In one group of First Nations they send out young boys when they are about 10-13 with no food and only acouple bows and arows for a week or two and he is aspoto come back as a warior. In L.A. vocab, I learned what a new word it is abode it means home. I had a great week!!!!!!

I am proud of my art,we have done a mandela. A mandala is a circle that has a cymbal in side of it that reporsents you,or is inportant to you,it can be just a random cymbal. I am also proud of how much I have in prooved on my d.p.e and vocab. It has gotten a lot easier sense we have started.I wish I could inprooved on my writing,because I need to add more detail and make longer paragraphs.

This week in math I learned how to put numbers in expanded form like 1243 would be 1000+200+43+3 would be expanded form. I also leaned what standard form means in math it just means you write it normally like 1243. In art we did halloween kelloshes. It looks really nice!!! We had a science quiz and I got 17\17 it was awesome!!!! I had a really fun week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week I learned what a stereotypes. A stereotype is when you give your opinion on how some one looks. Like if someone is really dressed up and wearing a lot of jewelry, you might think they are rich. But they might just be going out for dinner or somewhere else. There can be good stereotypes and bad stereotypes. .The example I gave you was a good stereotype. I also learned about a water cycle, it is when there is a lake or ocean, and the heat makes the water evaporate. The water starts to to make a cloud and the cloud will eventually get to heavy and start to fall. That is when it starts to fall it is called rain. After the rain fell, the water will run through a stream or river back to the ocean or lake, or maybe fall back into the lake or ocean. Then the cycle will start all over again.

This week in science I learned that people sent up balloons into the air to get the tempature of the O zone. I also learned that light house keepers get tempature readings and send them back to town. We watched two videos in science.
