week 15

Today I am going to talk about the habitat I am going to choose for the project wich I chose deep seas. I am going to make a poster that has lots of info on the deep seas. We were watching movies and my favourite was the deep seas my favourite animal in there would be the dolphins I think there awsome. bbbbbyyyyyeeeee!!!!!

 

 

 

week 14

Hi!!!  Today we had michelle ( Chloe`s mom) come into see us and we are supposed to say 3 things we learned fom it.

1-The life cycle of salmon ( egg, eyed egg, alevin, fry, adult, and spawner).

2-They lay about 800 eggs and about 1male and 1 female survive to lay eggs.

3-how hard it is for slamon to survive. 

 

 

 

week 13   Hi!!!!!!!!!  It`s Chase and today  I have to write 3 things on what I learned since spring break.

1-  I learned about decimals like , adding and subtracting decimals, and turning fractions into decimals. 

2-  I started a new unit on habitats and communities it`s in science we have to do a report on a habitat 

3-we started a new novel study on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 

 

 

week 12  

hey its chase. I have to write 3 things I learned this week so here I go...

1 I learned how to write essays My essay is on my favourite Harry Potter.

2  I learned to do origami my group did paper airoplanes and a bird.

3  I learned about and what decimals are.

WEEK  ELEVEN  

So today we have to write three things we learned this week so here I go. We learned how to do divide for example 9 divided by 9= 1 because it is how many groups are in 1 group of 9. We are writing paragraphs about things that are on a piece of paper here is some,my favourite place, a special day, and my hero. This week we had a spelling test with 30 words and I got them all right.

 

WEEK TEN      

This week we have to write 3 things we learned this week okay here I go. This week we started times tables which I am very good at. We are doing an assignment with our desk partners in science I am doing it in handwriting what you have to do is find key words and make them in to sentences. We also wrote a paragraph on a subject of your own choice mine was my favourite book series ( Harry Potter).  Bye!!!!!

 

 

WEEK NINE          

  This week we have to do a summary of our stories we just wrote my story is called Minotaur Vs. Cyclops. So here I go,in Minotaur Vs. Cyclops there is two guys and they were named Bob and Fred. They got in a huge fight over the new and improved Medusa and they were best friends. So they went for a fight but they hired Mickey Mouse and Pinocchio and both of there pants fell down. Bob and Fred got turned in to stone and Medusa, and so she protected Bob from getting turned in to stone ever again and they got married.

 

 

 

 

   Week eight      

  So mr.Johnson wants us to say what we want to improve on so here I go. One thing I want to improve on is social studies. What I need to improve on is this unit ( mapping) I am not very good at it. I need to work harder at drawing maps. I also need to work on more specific keys in my map.

 

 

 

 

      WEEK SEVEN

   Okay we are supposed to write 3 things we learned in the last two weeks so here I go. 1 thing I learned this week is the super heroes of volley ball and you do them when your spiking the volley ball the super heroes are, batman, super man, robin hood, and ninja turtles. We watched a video about the first travellers of Canada. We started a new unit in math the unit is on adding. BYYYYYYYEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

October 22 2009

Today we have to write something called 2 stars and  1 wish. The 2 stars means 2 things I am proud of in grade 4 and 1 wish means 1 thing I want to improve on. Okay I am going to do 2 stars and 1 wish now. 2 things I am proud of are in math I am doing really well 

in this unit another thing I am proud of is that I am doing very well in capitalizing something I want to improve on  is my punctuation. Well bye for now!!!!!!!!!!

October 16 2009

Well I have learned lots this week did alot I have to right three things I learned this week. One of the things we did was we had to colour and label a world map. Another thing we did this week is we started a novel study. The novel study is on Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing. Another thing I did this week is we had a math quiz thingy and I don`t know about what my score was yet.  BYE FOR NOW !!!!!!!!!!!    

 

 

October 13 2009

  Today in class we did lots of things and one of them was science and in science we did this thing where we had to read this column that said vocabulary above some words, The words were words that is like precipation and we had to match the words with the definition. We also did some math and the math was a little like what we did on October 6 2009, what we did was we worked in our desk partners and tried to make as many rectangular shapes as we can my desk partner was Travis. Today we also did daily paragraph edit and this weeks daily paragraph edit is letters from two people named Mayra and Ana.  

 

   WEEK THREE

    

 October 9 2009 

 Today in math we did a sudoku puzzle and I was really good at it and we did it in partners my partner was Maya.  

 We did daily paragraph edit but we didn`t do what we usually do today we had to write a clear paragraph on if we want schools to have school uniforms or not I didn`t want school uniforms. 

 

October 8 2009                                                                                                                                                                    Today in science we watched two movies,and the movies were about the weather. They were both pretty long and they were both AWESOME. I like what they did when they were showing the warm air go above and the cold air go below and I like how they red balloons as warmer air and blue balloons as cold air. After the movies were done we had to do this thing where we have to right down these words that are in a column that says vocabulary and the page number is there and we flip to that page and the word is highlighted and we have to right the definition of the highlighted word ( witch was that sentence with the highlighted word). We also did .P.E. outside we played soccer it was fun. Today we had daily paragraph edit just like any other day this week it was on school uniforms. Personally I am against school uniforms they have they're reasons and I have mine some of my reasons are they said they should have school uniforms for the childrens responsibility but I think that having school uniforms doesn`t mean that they have responsibility they should be responsible enough to pick out appropriate clothes for school.

 

 

 

October 6 2009 4 blocks but the blocks had to be touching side to side you can`t make them corner to corner it had to be edge to edge. We had to do it in partners my partners were Kaylee and Brooklyn all together we came up with 16 design thingies. We had more people than anyones in the class because Chloe was away. In science we learned how to measure the wind. We looked at something called a beaufort scale its a scale to findout what kind of wind it is . We went outside and found out what the wind was like. An example of the beaufort scale is so it was so windy that it was causing severe damage to buildings and trees it would be a 12 or if there was a fire while it was a 0 it would be calm, smoke rising straigt up. Outside we thought that it was about a 3 and the wind was blowing north. Mr. Johnson gave us  a worksheet about measuring wind, the direction of wind, the effects of wind. Then we did our reading comprehension the last one was on tornadoes this one is on the H1N1 virus. The H1N1 virus is going around right now and the H1N1 virus is new to us. In reading comprehension one person talks and then the other people in your group ( in my group its Kaylee, Brooklyn and Kyle) have to say a comment on what you said. Something I found intresting is that later this fall they will have a vaccine to protect people from getting theH1N1 virus. I also thought that it was intresting that the H1N1 virus was started in Mexico in April. Some people call the H1N1 virus  the swine flu but the official name is the H1N1 virus. You can`t get the swine flu from meat from a pig that had the virus. A question I have is how many people have died from the H1N1 virus? Another question I have is have any famous people gotten the swine flu?

 

October 5 2009

In .P.E. today we played two games the two games were bench ball and Dr. dodge ball. When Mr.Johnson picked the teams in one of the games there were only four girls on my team the rest were guys.

October 2 2009

 

Today we had art and we made mandalas. My mandala was about colour and it is really cool so far.The most popular picture was the peace sign. A mandala is a circl

e with a design in it, mandalas are mainly found on necklaces, broaches and some other jewellery. Today we also wrote about Gregor Mendel and his accomplishes.                 

 

          Today we didn`t have math I like math!!!!!!   Today we had a spelling test and I got an A 100% 20 out of 20. Today we had our last tennis class with coach Willy. Cole, Holly, and Mitch ( Mitchell) got to play a real game with coach Willy. We kind of got to play a real game but it wasn`t like theirs we went on the court the first person  ( that was me) got to go up first  and then the other 3 girls would join me and we played tennis but if we got an out we had to go on the bench and the next one on the bench would go up and play with the people. We found out that the new person always gets the ball first. There was a boys game and there was a girls game except Holly, Cole, and Mitch got to play in just random teams,here is who was on the girls game , Chase, Savannah , Maya, Sydney, Ashley Kimler, Mariana, Kaylee, Keeli, Brooklyn, Wynne, Chloe, Ashley Kowal, Olivia, Tabitha, Taylor-Jade.In the boys game there  was, Luke, Nick, Travis, Palmer, Stephen, Joshua, Zackary, Christian, Coltin, Ryan, Kyle.  

 

  WEEK ONE

 

September and maybe some October

In class we learned about and what a stereotype is.Stereotyping is bad because it doesn`t get to give you a chance to meet that person and find out who that person really is.Stereotyping is also bad because it is like a rumor and it is hurtful to the personthat its about if they hear it. A stereotype is when someone assumes what that person is like just by finding outwhat they look like what they sound like and how they do things.   An example of a stereotype is that all old people forget lots of things. More than one person can be stereotyped at once it can be a large group it can be a small group it can be a class it can even be because of your hair or eye colour or even your height.  Stereotyping has been around as long as human beings. The word stereotype is Greek origin for solid kind. In science we learned about the water cycle and we got to draw a picture of landscape with the water cycle happening and we got towrite about the water cycle the things we wrote about is precipitation, condensation , runoff, and evaporation. Precipitation is when the droplets get to heavy and fall humans call it rain,condensation is when the droplets start to form together,runoff is when the water goes in the lakes,streams and oceans,evaporation is whenthe water comes up in to the air as air molecules. In math we are learning how to figure out and how to find patterns we are also learning what an equation is. Equations are basically math problems with one of the numbers missing for example this is an equation 2+ =4 this is not an equation this is a math problem 2+2=4 . In socials we are learning about maps and we are making maps of our road but we are just doing the out line and the basic thingslike houses trees and-roads and not putting much detail in  it. In science we went around the school and recordedthe temperature with a thermometer. The highest we got was 28.3. In different areas there is different temperatures for example in the shade it will be cooler in the sun it will be warmer and near black or metal it will be burning hot. In P.E. we are doing tennis with coach willy.It is very much fun so far we have learned ball control what the alley is and much more. Today we went outside to draw the clouds and 50% was covered in clouds and we predicted that there was a 50 50 chance that it would rain. Today we learned about tornadoes and one thing I thought was very interesting was how tornadoes start. They start by thunder and then the cold air pushes up the warm air and they make a spinning motion and that's how a tornado starts. In Kelowna we don`t get tornadoes because we have mountains to protect us but in other places like Calgary they get its of tornadoes because they have flat land and nothing big to protect them. In science we learned how to measuresnow and rain. To measure snow you put a snowboard down on the ground and the next time after it snows again and use a meter stick and look at the number and you have got your answer. In math we had to match the equation with the question and it was fun. We worked with our desk partner but I didn`t I worked with  Kaylee at that time Coltin was my desk partner but he worked with Mr.Johnson , the teacher. Now I am desk partners with  Kaylee.
