    Two satrs and a wish

 My two stars are in writing because i think that every time we wrote i improved some how so I think I did really goood in that. Also I think I did good in learning how to use a powerpiont becaues I did a powerpiont for the olympice with some other people. after that we did a project in science on a hibatat i that was really fun. I also was happy with what I did with that.

       One thing I would inprove on is maybe long division because at some times it can be pretty hard!!!

This week our teacher gave us a day off.

 

                                      April 10 to 15

      Today Chloe's mom, Michelle came in to talk to us about the salmon and their habitats. We learned that usually only two out of 800 salmon make it back to their starting point alive. We also learned that trees and tall grasses are good to have around in a salmon habitat because it makes shade over the water then that water gets cooler. We also played two games. The first one was you had to get to the end of the opsitical course without dying. It was the same proces that the salmon would have to do too. The other game we did was a spinning wheel. You got to spin it and you would either live or die. If you die like I did then the wheel would tell you how you died. It was so much fun and I learned alot. 

                                                     April 18 to 23                               

          In science we have to do a project on habitats. My habitat is going to be mountains (Himalays). The Himalays have some of the tallest mountains in the world. Such as Mount Everist. Lots of different animals live there like snow lepards and bears. Lots of people try to climb to the top of some of the mountains but not to many end up making it to the top because of the shortage of oxeagen.                                   March 22 to 26

                  This week I learned how to do oragami. I learned how to make a sumbo wrestler and a frog. It was really fun and I had a great time going through the process. Another thing is we started a new novel study called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We haven't read that much only to Chapter 4. We also started a new unit in science. It is called Communities and Habitats. We are learning about the differences of the two. In math we also started a new unit. It is about decimals. We are learning what we can use them in everyday life and how they relate to money.

 

                                March 5 to 9 

 

   Since Spring Break I have learned alot of things like about essays. We are learning how to set them up and write them. I got to pick a topic and I picked soccer. Then we had to have 2 to 3 sub topics and a clintcher. We also started a new unit on habitats. So far we have watched different videos on different habitats. Then we pick a habitat and do a project. The habitat I am going to study is the mountain habitats. One last thing I learned was about fractoins and decismals. I learnt about equivelent decismals, how to make a fractoin into a decismal and adding and subtracting decismals.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

           Feb 26 2010 

1.         I have been learning how to use dress up  and decorations in a sentance. I have also been learning about fractions and what they are. I am doing a power point about the olympics and a sport. i think that I am getting better a my writing. In writing we are learning and writing about fables. A Fable is a short story with animals with the charistics of a human. We just finished a unit on Social Studies. We had to do a project on the Impact of Cultures Aboriginal and Eurpeans Coming Together in Canada. Then get our mark back. We also just finished a novel study. It was called The Cricket In Times Square. Then we got our marks back on it.

                      Dec 14 to 17 

       On Christmas break I am staying here because my grandparents were going to come, but plans changed. I was so excited  because they dont ocasionally come. They would come more often, but they live to far away. We are going to have a huge fiest of juciy turkey, fluffy mashed potatoes, delouices corn, and probley more stuff too. Forsure we are going to open presnts. I love to get presnts and to give presnts to other people. My favourite part is dinner and dissert because all the food is always so tastey or delouis. That is what I am doing for Christmas break. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                            Dec 1 to 4 

          This week I learned how to divid and muitplie. It is really easy because once I do more of it I get used to it and remember them. I  also learned how to use dress ups and sentice openers. It is easy too but it is hard to use dress ups in one sentice. A sentice opener is when you use a different word to start

 

the sentice. One last thing I learned is new words and what they mean.    

 

      Jan 4 to 8 

   This week we started a new unit in math we are now learning how to tell time. we are also learning different ways to wright it. It is really easy so far. In wrighting we were to pick two cards with a charecter and a problem then wright a story useing those cards. We had a choice of useing both or just one. I picked to do them both. It is really fun so far, but kinda hard because it is like there is two problems. In science we also started a new unit. It is light and sound. We are learning about different types of light. We are going to start a project in socail studies about a famous exolorer. So I am really exctied to do that. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

              

 

                                  Nov 23 to 27

 This week I learned about john Herrighton and how he was the first native Amercain to go into space with an arow head and an eagle feather. those werent the only things he brought into space. He also brought a 390 millon piece of equiment. I also learned to pick three words in a paragraph and then wrewrite it in your own words.

                   October 26 to 30

        This week I learned about Inuit Calenders and that they tell about what you can see or do if you go to Sachs harbour. It also tells the best time to do it like what season. One last thing it tells is when it is dark and when it is sunny. Sertin months it Sachs Harbour are dark for 24 hours and some months are sunny for the 24 hours. So you could play outside for the whole day if you wanted.

                                     Nov 2 to 6

      This week I learned how to handwrite the first three letters, it was very easy because I did it last year. My teacher last year tought me to do some letters a different way.I also learned how Henry Hudson was trying to discover a passage to The Spice ilands to get spice and come back rich.I learned about Jane Goodall and how she works with chimps. She knows there language. She is trying to save them from their forests getting cut down and farms, roads and houses. Another thing I learned was how to play vollyball and how to serve, bump, spike and set. A lady came in an tought us that. One last thing I learned was how to add four digit numbers. It is really easy.

                           Nov 9 to 13 

        I want to improve on taking notes because I am to slow and want to get faster. When I start to take a note what I was going to write down had already passed and then I cant remember it to write it down.

                                              November 15 to 20 

         A couple weeks ago we started a story about mythical creatures. I picked Cyclopes, Cebrus, Chimeara, and Hydra. My story is about Cebrus guarding the gate of hades. Hydra wants to know what is behind the gates but cebrus

wont tell him. So Hydra goes to ask Chemeara if she knowns. She doesnt know but wants to find out to.

   

 

 

                           October 19 to 22                         

        I am proud of goining chouir because I didnt really want art a little bit more because I want to be able to draw more things. This week I learned about a place value chart.  

 

 

 

 

                                  October 13 to 16 

 

        This week I learned how to play kamacasy soccer. It has four different teams and when a team scores they swich but the cool thing is you play with two balls. Another thing I learned was about the cotenets and oceans and where they go on a map.I also learned about mythicaiol creaters. We had to write a story about 2 to 4 chareiters. It is really cool. We also started a new unit in math. We are now doing addind and subtracting and stuff like that.        

 

                                                         Week One

                             September 21 to 25

 

     Week one I learned many different things. I learned sterotypes and how you shouldnt judge a person by the way the look. A person could look really dirty and scarry, but they could be really nice. Another thing I learned is you can measure the weather by a thermometer, well I actully allready new that but I learned way more then that. Like if you hold a thermometer on an object it will be warmer than holding it above it. Also if alot of people are crouding around the thmometer it might have a different raiting. One last thing I learned washow to edit a paragraph an use different marks. Like periods, commas and spelling mistakes.

 

Week Two    September 28 to October 2

 

   This week I learned mapping. We had to draw a map of our nieghborhood and  then color and add a key. A key is something that helps you read a map. If you come to a wierd looking object the key will tell you what it is. Another thing I leearned was tennis. I learned the right way to standand how to keep control of the ball. We did art and we made mandalas. A mandala is something that you like or that repersents you. I did to because I finished early. My first one was peace, my second one was smile. There was a lot that I wanted to do but I could only do two. It was a bit difficult because I didnt know if I liked it or not. If i didnt like I then I should earase it but I ended up liking it so I didnt have to earase.

 

                        October 5 to 9

          This week I did more of my map of my neighborhood. We added horizontal and vertical lines to create a grid for my neighborhood. Another thing I learned was patterning.  We just did a bit of a review because we had a test on Wednesday. Today we did the math quiz and I did good. We also learned how to play Sudoku. On the questions you could only use  the amount of numbers that it said. Another thing I learned was more weather. We watched two movies about weather. Then we had alot of words that we had say their meanings. In weather we learned about wind speed and how you can measure wind speed with  an anemometer. One last thing I learned was how to measure rain and snow. To measure rain you need a rain guage. The bad thing about measuring rain is that it could eveporate. To measure snow you need a snowboard and a meter stick.
